At Broken Plates, our line of blown glass statement jewelry starts out in the hot shop with the 2100 degree molten glass. After about 30 minutes of shaping and blowing, we have a finished colorful glass plate that is ready to be cut into our jewelry shapes at the waterjet.
This series uses simple, clean lines to modernize the classic shapes that have flattered women’s features throughout history. By cutting these shapes from blown glass, we create a transformative effect with color and light. Each edge casts a ray of light against its colorful surface, creating a depth of character to even the most simple of shapes.
