A batch of jewelry in our kiln after being fire-polished overnight
One of the most satisfying steps of the process here at Broken Plates wearables is when we get to unload a kiln after a fire-polishing session.
Each shape is cut using a cnc waterjet, allowing for these geometric shapes to be perfectly reproduced. After each shape is cut from the surface of our colorful glass, they are sanded by hand using diamond infused abrasives. A trip through the kiln returns each sanded edge to its original glassy shine, which is what you can see in the photo above!
