Repairs

We know that things happen, and during the life of your glass wearables, some damage may occur. If your loved jewelry is in need of repair, we’re here to help put your glass wearables back into circulation.

The cost of a repair depends on the kind of damage incurred by the glass. For our kinetic and sculptural wearables this is based off of the number of pieces that need replaced + the cost of shipping.

  • Base Repair Cost: $35

  • Addition Piece: +$20/piece

  • Example: A Kinetic Shield Necklace with 3 broken pieces of glass: $75 + shipping ($35 + $20 + $20)

Because the glass may need reworked, rather than replaced, for our blown glass wearables the process is slightly different. These wearables’ Base Repair Cost: $35 + the cost of shipping and any additional cost will be communicated once a fix is determined.

Other things to know about our repair process:

  • Once we receive the damaged jewelry we will reach out to confirm cost and timeframe for repairs. Most repairs take between 2-4 weeks from the time the jewelry is received.

  • Because we ask that you cover the cost of shipping you will receive two invoices during this process. Once at the time of confirmation to cover the cost of shipping to our studio and again when the repair is completed to cover the cost of the repair itself and the return shipping to you.

Shipping Notes:

To ensure the safe arrival of your Broken Plates jewelry to our studio, certain care must be taken in packaging the piece, please use the following as a guide:

  • Try to return your item back to us as close to how you received it as possible; returns and exchanges must return undamaged and in their original and undamaged boxes.

    • Place the boxed jewelry inside of a shipping box, using the original shipping materials is safest but any box that provides space for additional cushioning can work - best practice is to have at least 2 inches of packaging material between the jewelry box and the shipping box. The most important thing is to make sure the jewelry is protected.

      • Do not use envelopes or padded envelopes to return the jewelry. It must be in a box. We have had customers try to do this and jewelry has been lost when the envelope was torn in transit.
