Simple, sculptural — Glass Jewelry

We’ve got two main approaches to glass jewelry here at Broken Plates — our Sculptural and Kinetic lines made from tinted sheet glass and our Simple Silhouettes made from Blown Glass. Both represent glass and its magic in their own unique and fascinating ways; allowing us to explore different techniques in our craft. But how do you pick which one you want to wear? — if you can’t choose, we say both!

On the surface it may appear that these lines are distinct and quite different, and they are — Our tinted glass is far more translucent. Its hues are soft and subtle, allowing the density of the color to build gradually as they are layered. Our blown glass shows off its colors much more richly and has a far more opaque appearance. Its hand blown quality means more organic shift in the ways its surface holds the color of the glass. — But, we’ve chosen our palette on purpose, wether you have a favorite style or would like to build a collection out of both, they’re meant to be worn together and to compliment each other whether you’re choosing multiple tints within one line, or combining both together.

So what’s your favorite way to wear your glass jewelry?
