Transformative effects with color and light

At Broken Plates, our glass wearables are made from a variety of techniques. One of those is utilizing our glass blowing expertise to make plates. These plates are made in the hot shop, slumped flat, and then mounted to get cut at the waterjet facility.

This is where our namesake comes from and also where we initially fell in love with glass as a material. For more information on this process, check out our TikTok and Instagram profiles.

By cutting these shapes from blown glass, we create a transformative effect with color and light. Each edge casts a ray of light against its colorful surface, creating a depth of character to even the most simple of shapes.
