Cold cuts...not what you think

Our Green Tea Tint glass being cut at the CNC waterjet machine

Whether you’ve been following Broken Plates glass wearables since the beginning or you’re just finding out about us, you may have seen us mention our process of cutting out our glass jewelry shapes using a CNC waterjet.

This process involves mounting our art glass to some plywood, and using a highly pressurized stream of water and abrasives to cut the glass like butter. It is one of the less glamorous steps of the process but it is also essential in order to be able to reproduce our jewelry as perfectly and efficiently as possible.

Your can find videos of this process and more on our TikTok and Instagram!
