Broken Plates
Once the drawing has been etched into the glass, the colorful glass powders are applied and are fused to the blown plate. While in the kiln the glass is heated to 1450 degrees. At this temperature, not only is the powdered glass melted, but the color applied in the hot shop begins to move and separate in organic and unpredictable ways.

These patterns add another layer of character to the imagery and enhance the complexity of the final piece.
